Shout out to the “Athletic” (Robert Mays) for getting Terry Fontenot to let down his guard and give us the answers to who has the power when drafting for our beloved Falcons! Wow it was Terry Fontenot that wanted to draft Kyle pitts over Justin fields and Arthur smith just agreed with him! Wow what a dumb decision by both GM and head coach that this team is paying for three years later! They lied to Arthur blank saying this was the plan when the plan all along was to keep Matt Ryan and build around him! We don’t have to speculate anymore Falcons fans. No more excuses just because he’s a brotha! I’m pretty sure Terry Fontenot is the one that wanted Bijan over Jalen Carter now 100%!
It explains why Arthur smith has struggled all season to properly use Bijan! It explains why coach smith draws up better passing routes for Jonnu smith than Kyle pitts! Wow just wow as we know now that our GM is incompetent! Drafted a TE at #4 then the next season draft a wr at #7 and then drafting a RB at #8! Is not the proper way to build a team without a franchise QB already on the franchise! So these two dudes have just been winging it for three years as I suspected! They didn’t come into this job with a plan for a proper rebuild because they don’t believe in rebuilds! I said this once and I’m going to say it again! The falcons are afraid to fail so they will always fail! What does that mean sir? That means to build something properly you have to start at the foundation and build it up from scratch.
They started their era by trying to build around an aging QB “Matt Ryan” and aging roster, but didn’t have the foresight to see they needed to prepare for the future by drafting fields! Now three years later you might have to give up multiple draft picks to get that qb in a trade when you had fields fall in your lap in the draft and you passed! Not that Terry Fontenot wanted lance and Arthur smith wanted pitts as the narrative has been pushed! The truth has FINALLY came out! Both Arthur smith and Terry F passed on fields, chase, parsons, or Sewell for Kyle Pitts!
So Terry Fontenot wanted Bijan even though he drafted Tyler Allgeier in the 5th round and he got us 1100+ rushing yards last season! That pick was to get a new FACE of the franchise and not about roster building as he keeps trying to hide behind the moto that he drafts “Best Player Available”!?!?!?!? Sounds like someone that has zero CLUE on how to build a roster and it sounds like the overzealous draft scout that falls in love with a player during the drafting process (combine and film work) while knowing we needed a presence on the Defensive line and Jalen Carter fell in our lap!
I guess drafting a potential FACE OF THE FRANCHISE was more important than drafting THE BEST PLAYER AVAILABLE that was also a major need on this roster! Falcons fans we have to stop ignoring the role Terry Fontenot has had in our Falcons woes the past 3 seasons. Yes Arthur Smith deserves the majority of the blame, but Terry also deserves blame! So what do you guys think? Do you think Terry Fontenot shares equal blame with this team lack of success or do you say that the burden is mostly on coach Arthur Smith?

Wow this cuts deeply as all lifetime Atlanta Falcons Fan who were super excited as a 1965 graduating Highschool senior that our beloved hometown Atlanta was getting an NFL Football Team 58 years ago, in fact the whole State of Georgia was excited!
This suspicion, now a glaring fact three years betrayal by Both the GM and Head Coach leaves us wondering why wasn’t the GM fired too? Hmmm waiting for the other shoe to fall y’all!
