Did the Atlanta Falcons turn the corner?

Did the Atlanta Falcons turn the corner?

Hello everyone,

We have a lot to get into and I could list who did what during the game, but I feel the question needed to be asked on a victory Monday!  The Falcons put together the most complete game of the Arthur Smith era as the team was dominate in all phases of the game.  For the first time I saw an offensive scheme that not only was effective, a QB that felt confident in executing the gameplan.  I felt like Arthur Smith dialed up a gem and he coached Ridder up to have his best game as a professional QB in the NFL!  Ridder was 28-37 for 329 yards and 2 TD’s with zero interceptions.

This performance doesn’t happen without coach Smith game-plan.  I said last week that Desmond Ridder failures was a reflection of his head coach, so it’s fair to keep that same energy when Ridder has a great game!  Ridder was great and coach Smith deserves his roses also.  The game plan seemed to use the run and play action pass plays to open up the field.  Desmond was allowed to throw the ball past 10 yards today as the trust between coach and QB grows!   Kyle Pitts looked like the Unicorn today with huge 1st down catches throughout the game.  His presence and connection with Ridder was amazing today.  I hope this is the start of their chemistry growing from here on out.

Oh yea, we have to talk about the defense that kept us in the game throughout the game!  This game could have got out of hand earlier during the game, but the defense kept the game close.  Two fumbles by the Falcons (jonnu smith and Bijan with one of each) gave the Texans momentum, but the defense only gave up FG’s!  The defensive coordinator Ryan N had this group playing very well early in this season.  We do need some sacks for sure, but overall we have a top 12-10 defense imo.

This was the most complete game I’ve seen out of our team since 2017 and next up are the Washington Commanders.  I felt like the Falcons grew up in that game vs the Texans!  I hope we can use this game as fuel for the rest of the season.  We aren’t going to dwell on the two fumbles on offense because they didn’t cost us the game.  Keep building for success Falcons!  So what did you guys think about the game?  Do you feel like this was a growth game for the Falcons or did they beat a rebuilding Texans team and that’s nothing to get hyped about tbh.  Please leave a comment below.

Rise Up!
